This morning we welcomed Aimee into the next step of her journey as she prepares to join the Church this Easter! On this first Sunday of Lent, catechumens publicly express their desire for baptism, their names are recorded in a book and they begin the final weeks of prayer and preparation.
This morning, Aimee signed the book of the elect during Mass at St. James the Greater. She was joined by her sponsor, Deacon Mark who has been leading the OCIA study program, and Pastor Fr. Thomas M. Pastorious.
Once Aimee becomes a full member of our community at the Easter Vigil, she'll continue to learn more about the Scriptures, the Sacraments, and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Leading up to Pentecost, she will also reflect on how she will serve Christ and help in the Church's mission and outreach activities into the future.
Please join us in praying for Aimee, her fiancee Aaron, and all the catechumens and candidates seeking Christ, and being prepared to share His Gospel this Lenten season!
