Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary is both a social and charitable organization of Catholic and non-Catholic women who are wives, mothers and daughters of Knights of Columbus members who are in good standing. In addition, any practical Catholic woman 17 ½ years or older or members of religious orders can also be members.
Our auxiliary supports St James the Greater Parish and its pastor, people, and programs. We are the strong "right arm" of our Knights council and strive to promote the welfare of our state and other councils, participate in and lead charitable activities, and create a welcoming atmosphere for auxiliary members and potential members.
